Through His Eyes

As I read the various articles and feeds this morning on news stories, I found myself reading stories of cover-up. Stories ranging from the untold birth and fathering of a child, secret gifts taken by politicians to evidence being found of  legal and ethical wrongdoing years ago by people. The main article in one story in huge text read " What's Behind Such Bad Behavior?"  Or as so many people state to me "Pastor, what's the world coming to?" We should not be quick to judge or compare. We should not diminish God being in control. We especially should not turn our back on humanity and wait until God changes "this crazy world". I listened to Matt Maher as I read and his song Flesh and Bone summed up my heart and thoughts:

"If I saw the world in Your eyes

Would it help me understand?

How You see through all our lies

Still You hold us in Your hand"

Jesus can see through the actions and words of every person. And yet, he still holds us and loves us. We all find this hard to believe, especially when we look at what people have done. Do you believe he sees through your life, knows everything about you and still holds you? If so, try to see the world through his eyes and do what he desires of you today.

If you do, the second part of the lyrics make so much sense:

I'm dying to believe

I'm trying just to show

That we're less than perfect

More than flesh and bone."

DUNKIN' DONUTS OR STARBUCKS?

isn't it amazing  the loyalty that people have to something? Dunkin' Donuts serves over 2,700,000 customers each day worldwide. According to a statistic on the web,  4.7 million customers worldwide go into a Starbucks. How does  a place that sells coffee and donuts\pastries develop such a loyal following? is it advertising? Is Starbucks coffee really that good ( some  people go to a Starbucks 3-5 times a day)? is Dunkin Donuts giving some of us old people a flashback to the good ol' days?
I guess my biggest question today as I sat and watched people go into Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks (they were right next to each other), is do people sometimes take that same mentality when it come to church? Are they so fiercely loyal to "their brand", that they will wonder how someone could try something other than what they take ?
